Bathroom update part I

There were alot of things that went into redoing our bathroom.  Earlier, I shared how I made our closet storage more efficient.  Another little thing that I found annoying was walking into our bathroom and seeing this:

bathroom window before

One, I think it's too busy with both the shutter and the frilly curtain up-top.  Second, there is a slight gap between the shutters just wide enough for my teen to be absolutely sure the boy across the street is watching her take her shower. And brush her teeth. And poop.  So, she drapes one of the hand towels over the gap to retain her privacy.

I knew that when I got around to painting the walls that I wanted this room to look bright, clean, and crisp. Essentially that meant having just the window without any extra frills.  But this still left me with the problem of privacy...Enter Amazon. I typed 'window privacy' into Amazon's search feature (that always seems to read my mind) and up popped this:

There are many other designs available, but I really liked the Etched Lace Window film.  When it arrived, I simply followed the directions in the package, and....

Ta-da!  I really feel a little stupid that it took so many years for me to do this quick/inexensive fix. You can see in the picture that the attachments that held in the shutters are still attached to the inside of the window frame.  I will remove those, patch any holes, and caulk the window when I eventually redo the walls.  What are you working on?
